报告题目：Development of integrated container management system(iCMS) considering foldable containers

Abstract
This presentation is composed of three parts. First, I will introduce Industrial Engineering Department at Seoul National University to enhance mutual understanding and cooperation between Zhejiang University and Seoul National University.
Second, I will present recent research results on empty container management. With the recent development of container transportation, the imbalance of empty containers among ports has become more serious. I consider the problem of positioning empty containers. The goal of this study is to propose a plan for transporting empty containers between container ports to reduce the imbalance. Iwill also introduce the empty container game that has been developed for training and education. The hybrid genetic algorithm for the three-dimensional multiple container packing problem will also be introduced. Moreover, the economic feasibility of foldable containers is being investigated using mathematical models.
Finally, I will present a leading-researcher project that I was recently awarded. The amount of project is about $350,000 for two years.This project is aimed to develop an advanced logistics system associated with foldable containers. Because foldable containers differ from standard containers in physical features, efficient logistics management of foldable containers is required. I will develop container packing algorithms, empty container game using both foldable and standard containers, empty container management system for foldable containers. Moreover, an integrated system which contains Container Logistics, Operation, and Simulation Modules will be developed.
个人简介：
Dr. Ilkeyong Moon is a Professor and Head of Department of Industrial Engineering at Seoul National University, South Korea. Professor Moon received his Ph.D. degree in operations research from Columbia University. Professor Moon’s major research and teaching areas are maritime studies, supply chain management, and inventory management. Professor Moon has published more than 80 papers in SCI/SSCI journals, such as Management Science, Operations Research, and Transportation Research Part E. He is the associate editor of many international SCI journals, such as Flexible Service and Manufacturing Journal, European Journal of Industrial Engineering, and Asia-Pacific Journal of Operational Research. Professor Moon has completed many projects in container management and supply chain management. He is the recipient of many awards, including Best Paper Awards and other prizes, awarded by international and Korean institute.
